Every business in the Town of Sidney is required to have a valid Business Licence or Intermunicipal Business Licence before beginning operations. This includes home-based businesses, non-resident businesses, commercial and industrial operations.
Renewal Notices are mailed the third week of November for all businesses that were licensed in the preceding year. Business Licence Fees are due and payable the first day of January each year. If you are no longer operating a business within the Town of Sidney, please advise the Town in writing so that we can update our records.
Any person who carries on more than one business in or from any one premises shall obtain a separate licence for each business. When a business is carried on in or from more than one premises in the Town of Sidney, a separate business licence must be obtained.
Business Licences may be transferred from one location to another for a fee of $10.00. A Business Licence is not transferable from one business to another business.
To obtain an Intermunicipal Business Licence, the applicant must make application to that Municipality in which the premises of the business are located.

Business Licence Fees for the more common classifications are listed below for your convenience. Businesses commencing operation after the thirty-first day of July, in any year, shall have a fee of one half of the annual amount. No licence fees paid shall be refundable.
