Building Permits and Inspections
The Building Department is responsible for reviewing and approving plans for building, plumbing, signs, and fire protection. When a permit is issued, staff will perform pre-determined inspections to ensure compliance with the BC Building Code and with the Town of Sidney's Zoning Bylaw and Building Bylaw. In addition, Building Department staff work with the public, architects, engineers, contractors and developers to ensure code compliance for all development within the Town of Sidney. The Building Department staff also provide technical support to the Planning and Engineering Departments.

NEW: As of June 1, 2008, the Town of Sidney has new requirements for Double Check Valves (DCV) for irrigation systems. Please contact the Development Services Department with any questions about these requirements.
