Crack Sealing
Annual road surface crack sealing is preventative maintenance work that extends the service life of asphalt roads.  A hot tar like compound is evenly spread along roadway surface cracks to seal the surface and prevent excessive moisture from passing through the road into the road base material and causing settlement.

Graffiti
The incidents of graffiti is on the increase in the Town of Sidney, as elsewhere.  Town policy is to remove graffiti on public property as soon as it is detected.  Staff will also notify owners of other infrastructure (BC Hydro, Canada Post, Telus, etc.) if graffiti is reported on their property.  Residents are encouraged to contact the local RCMP (250-656-3931) if they observe graffiti in progress.

Line Painting
The Town's line painting contractor will be completing this work throughout the drier months of the year.  Completion of the work is anticipated by the end of September.

Watermain Flushing
The Town of Sidney commenced the annual flushing of watermains on February 1, 2010 with completion at the end of March 2010.  During that time, more detailed information was available on our News and Notices Page.
