LOCHSIDE DRIVE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT Construction for the Lochside Drive Improvement Project is scheduled to commence in early August 2010, with completion in mid-November 2010. For public safety during the construction period, various sections of the waterfront walkway ahead will be temporarily closed to all pedestrian traffic. Please turn back when you encounter a barricade blocking the walkway. For additional information regarding this project, please contact the Engineering Department at (250) 656-4502. We regret any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during construction of this Federal/Provincial grant-assisted improvement project.
The Town of Sidney will be repairing concrete curbs, sidewalk and water services on Mills Road between Pleasant Avenue and Resthaven Drive, commencing on August 3rd. This work is in preparation for repaving which is scheduled to start in late August. During the driveway excavation, curb base preparation and construction of the new curbing & driveway crossings, driveway access will be restricted at times. The project Site Supervisor will advise residents in advance when their driveway(s) will be inaccessible. The Town will endeavor to ensure unrestricted pedestrian access to all residences. If you, or any other family members, have any special access requirements or questions, please contact Pete Harrison, Manager of Operations at 250-656-1034 or the Engineering Department at 250-656-4502 between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

This work is in preparation for repaving which is scheduled to start in late August. It is anticipated that this work will take 3 weeks for the installation and curing of the concrete curbs; however, this work is weather dependant and may be delayed by inclement weather conditions. The Town will provide additional notices from time to time to keep you informed of the progress of the project and paving dates. During the driveway excavation, curb base preparation and construction of the new curbing & driveway crossings, driveway access will be restricted at times. To assist us in completing this work, please do not park any vehicles in the construction area during regular working hours of 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays).
