Council allocates Grants-in-Aid to 12 community organizations
Council has approved $18,500 in Grants-in-Aid to 12 different community organizations who applied for funding. The purpose of the Town’s grants program is to provide financial support to non-profit organizations and community associations for services, projects, or events that contribute to community wellbeing. As funding is limited, not all applications are successful.
The organizations receiving Grants-in-Aid funding in 2025 include:
- Sidney Guide & Scout Hall Society
- Parkland Parents Association
- Stelly’s Secondary School Parents Dry Grad
- 676 Kittyhawk Sponsoring Committee Society
- Navy League of Canada
- Sidney Lawn Bowling
- Sidney Arts & Media Society
- Cycling Without Age Society
- Friends of St. Andrew’s
- Saanich Peninsula Pipe Band
- Need2 Suicide Prevention, Education & Support
- Compost Education Centre
The Town also makes significant contributions on an annual basis to community organizations such as ArtSea Community Arts Council, Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, Sidney Museum, Mary Winspear Centre, and the SHOAL Centre for Seniors.
