Attractions

There are countless ways to make memories in Sidney and the Saanich Peninsula region.

Explore the range of attractions Sidney has to offer and check out some highlighted experiences below.

Sidney Spit

During the summer, the Town of Sidney serves as a gateway to spectacular beaches on Sidney Island.

The Sidney Spit Ferry takes walk-on passengers from the foot of Beacon Avenue to Sidney Spit, which is part of Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.

The spit is a sandy, narrow strip of land that stretches into the sea—a beautiful spot to relax, picnic, hike, camp, and birdwatch.

Sidney Museum

Sidney Museum has a range of permanent displays on the natural history of the area, local First Nations, industry, transportation, agriculture and social history.

The Museum also features showcase exhibits that change throughout the year.

Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea

The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea is a non-profit aquarium and learning centre that offers hands-on experiences with the Salish Sea through self-guided visits, daily programs, group and school bookings, and special events and lectures.

ArtSea Gallery

The ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park features ever-changing exhibits by Saanich Peninsula artists.

It is located along the Waterfront Walkway and serves as a popular stop for community members and visitors alike.
