Sidney Remembrance Day Parade & Ceremony

On November 11, the traditional Remembrance Day Parade will proceed at 10:30 am from the Mary Winspear Centre, along Beacon Avenue and Second Street, to the Cenotaph on Sidney Avenue. The Service of Remembrance for the Fallen will commence at 10:50 am. A Fly Past is planned during the two-minute silence at 11:00 am.

Veterans that wish to participate in the parade should muster at the Mary Winspear Centre at 10:00 am on November 11, or join the Parade at the Cenotaph.

The ceremony will be live-streamed at www.radiosidney.ca starting at 10:30 am.

Please note, temporary street closures will occur on Beacon and Second between 10:15 am and 10:45 am, and on Sidney, Third, Fourth, and Mount Baker between 10 am and 12 pm. For more information call 250-656-2428 or visit www.peninsulalegion.ca.

Sidney Concert Band's "Women and the War Effort"

Each year, in the lead up to Remembrance Day, the Sidney Concert Band presents its annual concert of remembrance at the Mary Winspear Centre. This year’s event is “Women and the War Effort” which honours Canadian women and their many contributions during war times.

The performance includes singers, bagpipes, the Last Post, and the 676 Air Cadet Colour Guard. For more information, visit the Mary Winspear’s event page.

 Sidney Poppy Office

From October 25th to Remembrance Day, the Poppy Office is open at 2328 Resthaven Drive (former 7-Eleven location) from Mondays to Saturdays, 10am to 4pm.
