Welcome to the Sidney Fire Department.
Since 1914 a dedicated group of volunteers have had a singular mission: Protecting the lives and property of our neighbours.
Today six career staff and 35 volunteers fulfill this mission by providing First Responder Medical Services, Fire Suppression, Auto Extrication, Fire Prevention, Fire and Emergency Management Education, and Confined Space Rescue Services. For over one hundred years Sidney firefighters have worn a patch on their sleeve reminding them of the faith and trust that has been placed in their hands.
It’s a symbol representing not only our history, but our commitment to excellence and an honour we take seriously.
As residents of the Town the Community Safety Building is your building, we are simply present and proud custodians of it. Please stop by if you are interested in joining our team, have a question regarding fire safety or emergency preparedness, would like a hall tour, or perhaps have a child or grandchild that would like to sit on a fire truck.
Together we will strive to make Sidney the safest Town of its size in Canada.
Brett Mikkelsen,
Chief of Department, Sidney Fire
