Community Active Transportation Programming

Thanks to funding provided by the BC Alliance for Healthy Living, the Town of Sidney has launched some new initiatives to help support local active transportation.

E-Bike Skills Courses – Now Complete

  • Location: Panorama Rec Centre
  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Dates:
    • Saturday, March 2, 2024
    • Sunday, March 3, 2024
    • Sunday, March 10, 2024
  • No e-bike required to participate
  • Participants must be 18+

Kids Bike Skills Courses – Now Complete

  • Location: Panorama Rec Centre
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Dates:
    • Register for Sunday, February 25, 2024
    • Register for Saturday, March 9, 2024
  • Must bring a bike to participate
  • Participants must be ages 6-9

Courses will be hosted and taught by trained Capital Bike instructors.

Prize Draw Information

  • If you or your child participates in a course, you can complete the feedback survey to enter to win one of three prizes:
    • Standard e-bike (Sidney + North Saanich residents only)
    • Cargo e-bike (Sidney + North Saanich residents only)
    • Pair of bike panniers (all participants eligible)

The Town of Sidney has partnered with the Sidney Branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library to provide bike repair kits you can borrow to fix up your bike. You can take them home like you would a book to use and return at a later date, or use the tools at the new bike repair station installed at the front entrance of the Sidney library in January 2024.

Visit the library to learn more and take advantage of these tools now available for anyone to use.

Mark you calendars for the upcoming spring 2024 Go By Bike Week taking place June 3-9, 2024. Sidney will be hosting a Celebration Station again this year, so stay tuned for more information on how you can join in the festivities and enter for the chance to win some great prizes provided by Capital Bike.
